Postural Antidotes

“Of all the things you wear, your posture is the most important.”

Do you have a poke neck? Do you have rounded shoulders? Do you have an abdominal protrusion? Do you have a sunken chest? Do you feel that your stature is diminished both physically and psychologically?

If your answer is yes, it is time to take a good look at your body alignment.

Try doing this:

Sag your shoulders, droop your stomach and limply hang your arms by the side, wear a glum expression and as a dejected, depressed and broken individual say “I feel terrific”. Now straighten yourself up, wrap your shoulders behind you, suck your stomach in, expand your chest and smile and say “I feel terrific”.

Felt the difference?

Posture transforms the mental attitude. Postural modifications are great antidotes to changing the way you feel. Good Posture matters. Posture tends to be ignored as far as communicative value is concerned. A healthy memorable self-image is associated with feeling worthy and having high self-esteem.

Take a match stick and hold it upright on a table and try to break it. You will be surprised at its resilience. Tilt it and see how it snaps. The same is with your posture. Stand upright and your poise is unbreakable. Slouch and see your confidence also shatter away.

Watch people carefully and from their posture, you will be able to read a lot about them. People with inflated self-esteem will walk around with their heads held higher and people with deflated self-esteem with drooping heads.

Stand tall and see yourself receive second glances from others. Good Posture is the best silent speech

“Stand up straight and realize who you are, that you tower over your circumstances.”
